Sitting down in the pre-dawn morning. Chair cool, padded, but without supportive arms. A chair for sitting for a while. Sitting and waiting for the rays of the Sun. Near by, on a light tan stucco wall, a honey bee hung motionless. Looking carefully it was darker than the Italian honey bees that are popular with beekeepers. The rays of the Sun finally lay on the bee. The light defuses in the opaque body of the little lady bee. Her body like dark amber. Slowly, she began to warm and move her legs. She must have been far from the hive, and got caught in the shade, slowed, and landed to wait out the night.
Bees see in the ultraviolet. When they see a rose, it is blue.
Knowledge allows us the opportunity to journey, in our mind, to the world of the Blue Rose. We get another perspective, to become more than our selves, to gain insight, and to enjoy a moment of respite in the early morning of life.

2 jokes for...... Ginger Snap Thoughts.
Polar Bear walks into a bar. Bartender says "what'll you have?" After a few moments the Bear says "Beer" Bartender says "Why the big pause?"
Horse walks into the same bar. Bartender says "Why the long face?"
These two "Jokes" were used as tools to intervene hysterical behavior. They were used when all other interventions failed.
Humor, it seems, breaks a "spell" or hysterical thinking. Humor becomes a respite for the weary spirit when seriousness lays like a heavy blanket.
Bless the comedians that give us a good laugh, a chuckle or a wry smile.

Sentence overheard, "I am losing my hair".
We use this kind of reference to gain and loss. But the mind, in its most basic way of seeing the world, may think the lost hair can be found. Has anyone found the time they lost, the hair, the hearing, or anything lost in that way?
I am looking for my lost youth...I put it somewhere,,,maybe it is hiding with the weight I lost... I had a friend that lost weight and, you guessed it, I found it. But when I found the weight, he denied it was his and wouldn't take it back! Imagine that!
Ok, if we stop using "loss" in referring to things like weight or time then what do we say? Some say "I dropped the weight", well then don't drop it near me; there again folks will say, "I 'picked up' a few pounds over the holidays" who among us would reach down and pick up a few extra pound off the ground? Then there is "I put on a few pounds", it sounds like we reach in the refrigerator, bring out a few pounds and strap them to our body. I don't think so.
Language is our way of communicating information, and ideas..and because we are such a creative species we tend to use words in a poetic fashion. There are concrete statements as in science which are like blocks of granite, and there are flowery allusions, of everyday conversation, that swirl in a kalidescope of images.
Words spoken and words written. They evoke images and responses in our mind and heart; they bring us a resonance inside that can enrich, educate, tantalize and infuriate. They are words and we interact with them. We arrange words like flowers in vase or colors on a canvass. We..and....them. Keeping the perspective that we are responsible, (response-able) How we respond...is up to us and is our choice. No es verdad?

Set the time machine for back when. Jump aboard to Yosemite Valley.
In the early days of big wall climbing. Vast territories of flat pristine granite. Looming walls that would glisten in the early morning light. The chatter of climbers with ropes and hardware behaving like squirrels. All is chatter below but when you begin the journey on the wall it is all about truth. Concentration on the task at hand. A task that offers no second chances. There is truth in that fact. Truth becomes action. And when high above the valley floor the intensity is so great, the fruit of truth is humor, it is also communion.
Every day each of us may face a big granite wall, find truth, and reap it's fruit of humor and.....communion.

I recently heard a sentence uttered that I think could be a rule of thumb. "If offered a "deal" but the explanation is not simple enough to understand; stay away from it."
Well I don't understand bio-engineering but then again no one has offered me a deal. I think of times I have had someone explain how something works, nod my head in agreement, say I understand, and then when asked by someone to explain what I agreed to, fail miserably and realize I hadn't a clue what I agreed to.
It is the razzle-dazzle, the snakeoil pitch, the salesman's word game that makes "yes"; "No" and vice versa. How many times does it take for us to watch someone dance on quicksand before we ask them to stop, explain it in a simple sentence, and then watch them slowly sink in their own goo.
Time to say; "Give it to me straight....I can understand it"
