 People Power
Back to Full Blog

In a discussion with some folks they told me "What can we do to change things. We don't have any power"

In the a corporate run society People have the power..
The power is in the pocket book.
The power is in local economies.
The power is cutting off the life blood of the Dragon Corporations.
Don't drive if you can walk to the store..
Coordinate shopping with neighbors. Ride share.
Don't buy products that support what you don't like or agree with.
Does it work? Yup. We the people have made some corporations, like Mc Donald's stop their use of Genetically engineered potatoes.
See a program on television you don't like? Call, write, email the advertisers and let them know you are buying any of their products if they advertise on the Program is dislike..
Many companies are own by one large Corporation...Just tell them you aren't buying any of their products becuse they support something you don't like..
One can be many...let your friends and co workers know what your doing and act as a team.
Shop locally,,,,make change globally....It's the American way!!
Put "Free" back into "Freedom"
Have fun!

Cap,

I have practised many of the items on this list.

You are right - we can change our world by our daily input.

Did you know that the gas companies took notice when gas consumption went down 1% in January of this year. Now 1% may not seem like much - but it was a big hit on their pocket books.

Hello, I totally agree with you on all counts, I would add local and national government to the list. Do not vote for or support them unliss they are accessible, accountable, transparent and fully open to the views of the people who give them the power to rule. Researching and Promoting this concept of |Holistic Governance is what I work on the Internet every day of my remaining years, to do. Governments could show how this works by example and this would trickle down to to the corporations, religious and other man made concepts.

That is why I support, as a European, Senator Barack Obama, because He is the first political leader, in my humble opinion, to start to put the people first, in his polices and he is trying to shake up the existing outdated political system of red and blue politcal parties, in the USA. This will in turn be an example to the rest of this war torn and environmentally damaged world in which we now exist, do the same: I like this quote: "Change the way You look at things and the things You look at will change".

I am in the process of creating a non-profit holistic_global_roundtable@yahoo.com (online) for like minded individuals, companies, organizations, alternative and non profit groups, to voice their opinions and ideas to help to create these much needed changes, in thought, word and deed. If You are interested please leave a comment, or e-mail me. Sincerely mike

Great post, capananda! There is definitely power in people and when I was a schoolteacher.....I used to say: there is power in parents. Same kind of idea! The results are limitless!

Hope you are well!

Capananda - I think that most of us do not realize the power of one plus one plus one anymore because we seem to be so disallusioned with our country/government. It may indeed be time to step up and make our voice count with another. June
