Rules are what we use to live by. Many of our "rules" are common sense. Rules in driving are generally made for safety and some are made to generate revenue for cities and counties. The rule of law, however, is not common sense. An attorney once told me, in the USA there is the golden rule, The one with the Gold rules. When the rule of law breaks down our safety breaks down as well. It is then that "rule" takes on another meaning. It is about ruling class, ruling gangs, ruling the "masses" and becomes the description subjugation. Rule of law, if it is to work, must apply to all. No exceptions. Murder must be punished, even if the person is wealthy, a movie star, a politician, or some other personage. Then we all can be safe and secure. It is our duty as citizens to inform our representatives that we want the rule of law for all not just for the average citizen. If we don't act, we allow unlawful behavior to grow. When this happens no one is safe, except the criminals that claim they are above the law. Exercising our citizenship is informing our representative. You have the power to make change. You have the power. And like the superpower you are, always use your powers for good.
